Finally some portraits of the boys! You would think we would do this more often but the truth is we don’t. It seems to be easier on them when someone other than dad is taking the pictures but they actually seemed to enjoy it this time (most of the time). The Wolverine shot is a result of Andrew goofing around for a few of the photos. He wasn’t trying to be Wolverine but when I got it on the computer I realized how perfect it was for some claws. He loves super heroes and got a real kick out of seeing it for the first time.

It’s a little late but I wanted to get our Christmas card on here anyway. I’m already thinking about the next one. I hope everyone had  a merry Christmas! Happy new year!

The weekend before super storm Sandy moved up the east coast the weather was beautiful and perfect for a beach wedding at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head NC. This one was even more special because it was family. I don’t think they could have had a better time! I enjoy shooting the entire wedding day but have found that I really enjoy photographing fun wedding receptions. A big thanks to Courtney for shooting and contributing to the sea of photos that I had to edit. You can check out a bunch of my favorites below. Congratulations Samantha and Cameron! You would think with family it would be easy to write something! Samantha is my niece and I have known her since she was 8 or 9 when I first started dating my wife. I have way to much to choose from and I’m feeling really old right now! This blog is more about the photos anyway. I will say I can’t wait to shoot their wedding! It’s in the OBX and it’s going to be good! All of the shots below are from various areas around Charlotte, NC.

Andrew started kindergarten yesterday… sort of . It was his first day of staggered entry. He is so ready and excited. It was much harder on his mommy. :) I can’t believe we have one in 4th grade and kindergarten. It really does go by fast!

It has been a joy shooting for Erica and Brian! I have been looking forward to this one. I look forward to shooting all of them but this one was at the beach. It was a little different in that it was a beach wedding but not on the beach. Ocean Isle has a nice little chapel just after you cross over the bridge on the right. We were thankful to be inside because the wind could almost blow you down! A huge thanks goes out to Courtney for making the trip to the beach and shooting with me.  For all of those brides on the fence about getting a second photographer… do it.  You won’t be disappointed.
